Our Fall Prevention Program provides educational information on fall prevention, an initial home assessment visit, and recommendations.
Did You Know?

1 out of 3 seniors (65 and older) will fall every year. Those 85 and older are 5 to 10 times more likely to fall, resulting in injuries like hip and bone fractures and brain trauma.

DOH's Injury Prevention Branch show that about 128 seniors in Hawai'i die each year from fall related injuries. Another 9,950 are treated in hospitals for non-fatal injuries, including 2,010 who are hospitalized.

Falls exact a heavy emotional, physical, and financial toll on seniors, their caregivers, and the healthcare system, resulting in estimated hospital charges of nearly $207 million a year, statewide.
